"The project of the law on "deoligarchization" presented by the ruling party contradicts the Constitution of Georgia. If this law is adopted in this version, our party will file a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court on the very first day. The Constitution has not been repealed by anyone yet, and if the rule of law exists in this country, the court will make an appropriate decision regarding this law."

📍 "The draft law on "deoligarchization" presented by the ruling party contradicts the Constitution of Georgia. If this law is adopted in this version, our party will file a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court on the very first day. "No one has repealed the constitution yet, and if there is a rule of law in this country, the court will make an appropriate decision regarding this law."

🔹 This was announced by the chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Injia at the plenary session of the parliament, where the parliamentary majority presented the draft law on de-oligarchization in the first reading.

🔹 At the plenary session, the chairman of the political group emphasized the fact that out of the 12 recommendations of the European Commission, the request to adopt the "Law on Deoligarchization" was addressed to Bidzina Ivanishvili, and everyone knows very well about it.

🔹 "They are fighting the winning party, which today is represented by "Georgian Dream". They are fighting against Bidzina Ivanishvili, a person who invested billions in our country in different ways, both under one government and under the previous government. At the same time, in relation to a certain group of people who have withdrawn billions from Georgia, no one votes, it is unnecessary to talk about making any notes in the resolution," said Fridon Injia.

🔹 "Can you imagine if there were 100 Bidzina Ivanishvili in Georgia? And do the same for our country? What would our country be like today? "The current government of Georgia should do everything to ensure that the population does not leave Georgia and, on the contrary, that people who fled due to the twists of fate return to their homeland," said Fridon Injia.

🔹 The chairman of the political group addressed the ruling party from the rostrum of the parliament and urged that the ruling power should stand tall and act only based on the interests of the country.

🔹 "Don't play with us, we are not in kindergarten. We know what is happening and why it is being done. Stand as needed as the winning party. Don't back down," Fridon Injia addressed the members of the majority.

🔹 As for the issue of granting the EU candidate status to Georgia, according to the deputy, Georgia has already been granted the candidate status, since it has already made an official application for this.

🔹 "Granting candidate status to Georgia is only a political issue. Whether we pass this law or what we do, it will not matter much. If they consider it necessary, they will accept us in the European Union, but they need to pass this law in order to remove the person who invests billions in the development of the country. And if they give us any money, it's only to manage our small country," Fridon Injia believes.

🔹 "Don't consider me as a lawyer of a person whom I don't know at all and I have never met." Fridon Injia added.
