📍 Chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Injia believes that the problem in the country's pharmaceutical market can be solved only by creating a state pharmaceutical enterprise. In other cases, even the introduction of (GMP) standards in the country will not contribute to the lowering of drug prices.

🔹 This was announced by Fridon Injia from the tribune of the Supreme Legislature at the February 15 plenary session.

🔹 "The decision taken by the government to import medicines from Turkey is somewhat important. Also, it is important to introduce (GMP) standards in the country, but the most important and necessary, in my opinion, is the creation of a state pharmaceutical enterprise, which will make it possible to reduce the prices of drugs," said Fridon Injia.

. The Chairman of the Parliamentary Political Group believed that the state should take on the task of resolving important issues that are directly related to the well-being of the population and the regulation of social issues.

🔹 "The fact that drugs are cheap in Turkey is the merit of local production. That is why medicines are cheap in Turkey. If there was even one state pharmaceutical enterprise in Georgia, it is a monopoly, the level of transactions that exist in the country would be reduced one-time," said Fridon Injia.

. The Chairman of the Parliamentary Political Group calls on the ruling power, the government, to establish a state pharmaceutical enterprise in the country.

🔹 "I call on you, the ruling party, the government, to create a state pharmaceutical enterprise, which will produce the most demanded medicines, which are most needed by our population, on which the importers who have monopolized the market see the biggest profit. This is necessary and most important to save our population," said Fridon Injia.

🔹 In his opinion, the state pharmaceutical enterprise can be either under the wing of the Ministry of Economy or the Ministry of Health, however, Fridon Injia believes that the Ministry of Health can better determine what medicines are needed, what medicines are required, what our population needs.

🔹 "That's right, the creation of a state pharmaceutical enterprise will be the solution to the case and the solution to the problem. This is what will bring us the cheapening of medicines as a result. The implementation of (GMP) standards in the country is good, but it has nothing to do with making drugs cheaper. It can become cheaper only by creating a state pharmaceutical enterprise," said Fridon Injia.
