📍 The first meeting of the working group of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia was held in the highest legislative body of the country.

🔹 The creation of a working group in the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee is related to the draft law prepared by the parliamentary political group "European Socialists", which will affect the amendments to the Organic Law of Georgia "On Georgian Citizenship".

🔹 Chairman of the political group Friedon Injia presented the draft law at the session of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee of the Parliament on September 15.

🔹 "The draft law aims to make such changes to the Organic Law "On Georgian Citizenship" that, within its scope, will facilitate the issue of obtaining citizenship for people who left Georgia for a number of reasons and their children."

🔹 The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee of the Parliament expressed its interest in the idea itself, and in order to systematically and comprehensively study the issue, decided to create a working group of the committee chaired by Fridon Injia.

🔹 In the process of work, the working group will focus on the issues related to checking the level of knowledge of the state language and the history of Georgia, as well as the basic foundations of law, when granting Georgian citizenship.

🔹 The first working meeting was attended by the deputies of the highest legislative body, as well as the representatives of the bodies and relevant agencies of the executive authority, whose field of activity is related to the above-mentioned issues.

🔹 The next meeting of the working group will be held next week.
