The political party "European Socialists" appeals to the government to take effective steps in the near future to improve the difficult economic and social situation caused by the pandemic in the country.

"Georgia's population will find itself in the most difficult situation from the socio-economic point of view in the spring, if the government does not take effective steps to correct the situation. We believe that from February 1, the government should immediately open the borders and all means of transport. Among them, including air traffic, and all foreigners, all those who wish should be allowed to come to Georgia, of course, in full compliance with all international recommendations related to "Covid-19".

The members of the political council of the party believe that the representatives of small and medium businesses in Georgia should be given the opportunity to conduct their activities in compliance with all existing recommendations, and the state, in turn, should support and provide tax incentives for at least three months to the representatives of small and medium businesses both in the capital and in Georgia. scale.

"European socialists" believe that today's banking policy in relation to credit rates is the most difficult for the population of Georgia, and this is the reason for their extremely difficult economic situation. In this regard, the government should make serious changes at the legislative level.

"Today's banking policy in relation to credit rates is the hardest for the population of Georgia. Even more so, taking into account the current situation caused by the global pandemic. We believe that it is necessary and inevitable to carry out changes at the legislative level, which will give the population of Georgia the opportunity to use cheap and accessible credits for the development of their own small or medium-sized businesses. Banking rates should be liberalized to the maximum and it should be based on international and European practice.

The party believes that the National Bank of Georgia, together with the banking sector, should revise the percentage limit of the banks' annual profit.

"Loans and credit resources raised by banks, loans issued should be based on international norms and their annual profit should not exceed the limit. For example, if the bank takes a loan for 6%, the interest rate of the given loan should not exceed 7.4%. Moreover, if we take into account the current situation, which is caused by the pandemic, the government and the banking sector should offer similar preferential conditions to the population at least until the end of the pandemic" - it is mentioned in the statement.

The member of the Parliament of Georgia, the chairman of the party "European Socialists" Fridon Injia, in the report made at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe regarding the parliamentary elections in Georgia, expected more negative evaluations than what was heard at the session.

"To tell the truth, I expected more negative evaluations regarding the parliamentary elections in Georgia at the session of the European Council than what was expressed." It seems that the team of "Georgian Dream" conducted its work in the Council of Europe fruitfully. I don't agree with some of the assessments made during the session regarding the elections, because I think that their positive assessments were very superficial and, one might say, meaningless" - states Fridon Injia.

In his opinion, the speech of some members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was practically a twin of the speeches or statements of the "National Movement" team and its units.

For example, when they talk about and evaluate the 2020 parliamentary elections as the worst elections, they have not seen how the "Citizens' Union" held elections at the time, which today changed its name to "National Movement". According to Injia, when some European parliamentarians talk that they had expectations regarding the creation of a coalition government in Georgia, this statement is incomprehensible to her.

"It is possible that as a result of the elections, a coalition government could be formed with the proportion that the opposition parties would have won without rigging the elections, and not with the result that the "National Movement" uses for its own benefit and unfairly replicates," says Fridon Injia.

According to the leader of the "European Socialists", the European parliamentarian from the Netherlands, in his report regarding the parliamentary elections in Georgia, criticized the election legislation of Georgia, especially the manner of staffing the election commission.

"It should be noted that at the session of the Council of Europe, criticism was heard regarding the election legislation of Georgia. Especially in relation to the manner of staffing the election commission, which is dominated by the commission members of the ruling party team. At the same time, the members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe call on the representatives of the opposition parties in Georgia to stop the boycott and get involved in the parliamentary activities," said Fridon Injia.

In his opinion, in the end, he was once again convinced of the correct decision made by the team of "European Socialists" to engage in parliamentary activities.

"As you know, I am the only representative of the constructive opposition of the Georgian Parliament in the parliamentary delegation, which will participate in the session of the Council of Europe on behalf of the "European Socialists" party. During my stay here, I became more convinced of the importance of the opposition's involvement in the country's political activities. Therefore, I once again call on the opposition to stop the boycott and get involved in parliamentary activities, otherwise "Dream" will make many more mistakes and it will be very harmful for the country" - states Fridon Injia.
