"Obviously, because of the complex geopolitical situation in the world, at least the next two years will be very difficult for the whole world, including for the economy of Georgia", - said the head of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya at the plenary session of the Parliament .

According to him, famous international institutes and experts confirm this in their conclusions and forecasts.

"To overcome the impending crisis and challenges, I think it's time for the Government and the Parliament to work together, especially for the country's food security," the deputy emphasized.

At the same time, he proposed to form approximately the same anti-crisis council that acted during the pandemic under the leadership of the prime minister.

"I think that in this case the challenges are much sharper and more complex. Let's not forget that there are serious destructive and treacherous forces in the country. We hear not one call for destabilization. Therefore, the government should be mobilized as much as possible in all directions, based on the interests of the country", — said Fridon Indzhiya and emphasized that, taking into account the development of events, many legislative changes and initiatives should be taken promptly.

During the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Diaspora and the Caucasus, where modern migration processes were discussed, the chairman of the political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya stated that the Georgian diaspora living abroad is the intellectual, demographic and financial wealth of Georgia.

Information about migration studies, as well as support aimed at attracting and implementing diaspora investments, was presented by Natiya Kvitsiani, program coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (МОМ).

According to Fridon Indzhiya, it is necessary to systematize and analyze the opportunities of the Georgian diaspora in foreign countries.

"About a million citizens of Georgia are in Russia, and another 500 thousand are in other countries. And where did we lose the rest? This is interesting. Generally, I believe that it is very important to search for Georgians and Georgian families. I consider it necessary to systematize data about that – where they live, what they do, what spheres of activity, etc. All this needs to be done to analyze how Georgia can use its potential and opportunities. Every person living abroad is our treasure. "I have in mind the application of their knowledge and capital in our country", - said the deputy, emphasizing that these connections would help Georgia to stand on its feet and develop such areas as medicine, agriculture and other areas.

According to the chairman of the political group, it is necessary to work closely with the corresponding parliamentary committee to attract diaspora representatives.
