(Original) We know that you will create comfort for drug addicts, but what will you do to protect those citizens who are not yet recognized as drug addicts and can be "infected" with this scourge - Fridon Indzhiya's question to Iago Khvichi

04.11.22

The head of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya at the meeting of the Committee for the Protection of Rights and Civil Integration asked one of the candidates for People's Defenders, the chairman of the political group "Girchi", and the deputy Iago Hvichiya questions about tightening the drug policy in the country.

«In Georgia there are very many drug addicts. Что будет с нашей молодежью, the number of drug addicts has increased almost to half a million. We already know one side - you will create comfort for addicts. But what can the People's Defender do to protect the rights of ordinary people who have not yet become drug addicts and can be "infected" with this evil?

Почему мы пережаем по количеству narcozavisimых even some Asian countries that grow narcocultures, that same Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan and even ahead of Armenia. This catastrophe is up to half a million drug addicts, who, I believe, are no longer full-fledged people, plus 700 thousand pensioners and as many children as are left of the population of Georgia... We need help... If you will be the People's Defender, what will you do in this direction?»

In the highest legislative body of Georgia, the chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya, the vice-speaker of the Parliament Avtandil Enukidze and members of the political group met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Georgia Zhou Jiang.

The head of "European Socialists" congratulated the Chinese ambassador on holding the 20th Congress of the "Communist Party" and thanked him for his visit to the Parliament.

"Our party completely separates the concept and politics of the country's government, which is implemented by the "Communist Party" of China. The management experience accumulated by the political leadership of the People's Republic of China during these years is truly exemplary," Fridon Indzhiya noted at the meeting.

The chairman of the political group drew attention to the geopolitical role of Georgia, which, according to him, today provides great opportunities for the implementation of various important economic projects in Transcaucasia. In particular, the transit of energy sources, the production of an alternative source of energy - solar energy, air traffic or transit transportation, the development of sea ports and the increase in cargo turnover, as well as the exchange of experience in agriculture, which is part of the "Silk Road" project.

The head of "European Socialists" proposed to the ambassador to introduce the Chinese model in any region or district of Georgia and to modernize it from the point of view of the implementation of economic and social projects.

"For the deepening of relations between our parties, it is also important to prepare a Memorandum of Cooperation, which will contribute to the further deepening and strengthening of relations between the parties, as well as between Georgia and China.

According to the vice-speaker of the Parliament, Avtandil Enukidze, he supports the political course of China and considers it important to strengthen and deepen relations, both at the state level and between the parties.

«The attitude of our party is very positive in terms of deepening cooperation with you, and finally we support the sovereignty of China and its development. I cooperate with the representatives of the Chinese diaspora and thank you for this meeting", Avtandil Enukidze noted.

For his part, the ambassador emphasized the importance of this meeting and thanked the chairman of the political group "European Socialists" for organizing the meeting.

"Recently, the 20th Congress ended in China, at which the results achieved in the country in recent years were summarized, and plans and tasks for the future were set. I want to note that a special report was published at the congress, in which the leadership of the "Communist Party" of China thanked the parties of different countries for their cooperation, including your party - "European Socialists", - noted the ambassador.

"You know how important it is to develop relations between Georgia and China at the diplomatic and legislative levels. It is also very important to deepen trade relations between our countries. Georgia occupies a very important geopolitical place, and in this regard, the implementation of strategic projects is extremely important. It is also important to implement infrastructural projects in the field of logistics, which will significantly improve logistics in your country," the ambassador said.

(Original) "If the law "On deoligarhization" will be adopted in the version presented in the Parliament, our party will file a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court" - Fridon Indzhiya

02.11.22

"The project of the law "On deoligarhization" presented by the ruling party contradicts the Constitution of Georgia. If the law is adopted in this version, our party will file a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court on the first day. No one has repealed the Constitution yet, and if there is a rule of law in the country, then the court will accept the appropriate decision».

This statement was made by the chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya at the plenary session of the Parliament, where the ruling majority in the first reading presented the draft law "On deoligarhization".

The chairman of the political group turned to the "Georgian dream" and called on the ruling force to act worthy of the call and only based on the interests of the country.

"They are fighting with Bidzina Ivanishvili by all methods, a person who invested billions in our country in different ways, both under one government and the previous one. At the same time, everyone is silent about the group of people who took out billions from Georgia, and there is no mention of any instructions in the resolution of the European Commission. Can you imagine if there were 100 Bidzin Ivanishvilis in Georgia, and they did the same for our country, what would our country be like today?" - noted Indzhiya.

"Don't play with us, we're not in kindergarten. We know what is happening, and why it is done," said the deputy, addressing the members of the majority.

Speaking about the status of a candidate in the EU, Fridon Indzhiya believes that Georgia has already received the status of a candidate, as it submitted an official application for it.

(Original) It is necessary to tighten the legislation for the illegal use of administrative resources during elections - Fridon Indzhiya

02.11.22

The new procedure for electing the head of the Central Intelligence Agency by the Parliament is not an effective and hindering factor in the work of the electoral commission, since in the absence of the necessary 90 votes, it is necessary to elect the chairman of the Central Intelligence Agency every 6 months. This is a step back for the ruling party.

This was stated by the chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya at a meeting with the delegation of the Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (БДИПЧ) OSCE.

Speaking about the new package of changes in the electoral legislation, the chairman of the political group emphasized that the electoral process in 70% precincts will be held electronically.

"Based on this, it is important to control the electoral process on the remaining 30% precincts. It is necessary to have a special approach to this particular situation to avoid fraud", - noted Fridon Indzhiya.

According to his words, the use of administrative resources during elections remains a big problem, which manifests itself in pressure on voters.

"There should be a harsh method of punishment for the illegal use of an administrative resource so that no one thinks about it," Fridon Indzhiya said.

(Original) "Some members of the EU are trying to bring to Georgia a dangerous agenda for our country..." - Fridon Indzhiya

20.10.22

"The countries of the European Union and some of their representatives here, using false slogans of democracy, are trying in a crude form to bring to Georgia an agenda that is relevant and promising for their countries, but dangerous for our country, which reflects not only their true intentions, but also a humiliating attitude towards Georgia and to the Georgian people.»

This was stated by the head of the political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya at the plenary session of the Parliament of Georgia during the hearing of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili.

According to the deputy, the Georgian people defeated the criminal regime of Saakashvili lobbied by Western partners in the parliamentary elections of 2012, 2016 and 2020 and showed that they will no longer allow evil to rule in Georgia.

"Don't you think that we voluntarily and selflessly strive for a union that will cause serious damage to our identity, for the preservation of which millions of our ancestors sacrificed themselves over the centuries? They are trying to take away the freedom and sovereignty gained from us with hard work", - said Fridon Indzhiya.

At the same time, he emphasized that it is necessary to take the necessary steps to make Georgia a strong state that can use both enemies and friends to solve their problems.
