(Original) In connection with the danger of nuclear war, I urge the government to develop a special plan that will ensure the protection of our citizens - Fridon Indzhiya

17.02.23

  • The chairman of the political group "European Socialists" of the Parliament of Georgia, Fridon Indzhiya, calls on the government to develop a special state plan that will ensure the protection of the country's citizens in the event of the use of nuclear weapons.
  • «Today in the world is a very dangerous situation. The situation in the European part is especially difficult, and every day it becomes more and more complicated. Nuclear war is not excluded. The world is moving more actively in this direction every day.
  • Therefore, I use the opportunity and urge our government to be ready for complications. A special plan must be drawn up immediately, in which the responsibilities of each ministry or minister will be specifically designated. No collective responsibility. Collective responsibility personally for me is unacceptable. Every minister must take his direction under personal control", - said Fridon Indzhiya in an interview with the author's program "Post Analytika".
  • According to the deputy, first of all, energy is important, in particular, uninterrupted electricity and gas supply of the country, as well as food supplies.

🔶 The chairman of the political group drew attention to the inactive position of the European population in political processes.

🔶 "I have to say that the population of European countries is not as politicized as the population of Georgia, where everyone is interested in politics. The population of European countries basically trusts their government, and today there are leaders in the governments whose activities can be recognized as extremely extremist. For example, let's take Kubilyus (EU MP Andryus Kubilyus), if he had more power, he would definitely use nuclear weapons.

🔶 Therefore, our government already had to draw up a plan in which the actions of all members of the government will be planned from the first minute that this happens. This is what my country needs to survive. Unfortunately, the danger of nuclear war in the world increases every day. No step was taken to stabilize the situation. There was no talk of negotiations or peace initiatives. On the contrary, with every day more and more lives are sacrificed to these processes", - noted Fridon Indzhiya.

  • Speaking about the importance of Georgia's participation in international energy projects, Fridon Indzhiya emphasized that the most important of the various economic projects is the Middle Corridor project, which is needed by China and other Asian countries to connect with Europe. At the same time, Europe needs energy resources that are in Asia.
  • "The government of the country must work and do everything so that the Middle Corridor project becomes a reality." I think that taking into account energy projects, Europe's interest in Georgia will increase. However, there are countries that can go against it, because this is a very beneficial and saving project for our country. As for the Anakliya project, which, in my opinion, is a complex project, it is necessary to discuss it. I am still skeptical about it, because the development of the Anaklia project is connected with railways, cargo and countries that have to load cargo. It will be Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan or China. Without the participation of these three countries, the construction of the 51% port of Anaklia should be in the hands of the state, and in principle, this is what the government declared, and this can only be welcomed", - noted Fridon Indzhiya.
  • Speaking about his initiative to investigate the events and decisions of the former government of Georgia, which preceded the August war of 2008, Deputy Indzhiya said that anyone who acts in the interests of another country is a traitor.
  • "A person working in the interests of another country does not matter to me, whether it is a western country or a northern country, both are enemies of my country." Therefore, if the investigation commission is formed, answers and explanations will be given to these questions. What happened in August 2008 was not a matter of one day.
  • I think that the August war has been planned for a long time. And what preceded it, and who was its executor? These were traitor countries, ideologized and, of course, primarily based on their interests.
  • I think that the loss of 20% territory of Georgia was deliberate and planned.
  • I'm almost sure on 80% that this was a three-way transaction. In particular, the agreement between the governments of Russia, the West and Georgia.
  •  This would not have been without the Georgian government, this would not have been without the passivity of the West, and this would not have been without the actions of Russia, which it has undertaken on the territory of Georgia, the results of which we can all see.
  •  It is necessary to determine who and what role played in this process. Could you escape the war? - said Fridon Indzhiya.

(Original) The resolution adopted by the European Parliament – the anti-Georgian solution and the peak of injustice – Fridon Indzhiya

17.02.23

  • The chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya considers the latest resolution of the European Parliament on Georgia to be the peak of injustice and an anti-Georgian decision that discredits Europe itself.

As the deputy of India noted on POS TV, the majority of the population of Georgia adheres to the basic values of western civilization – democracy, justice, good neighborliness and mutual cooperation.

"Georgia has a big desire to establish European values." It's a pity that in anticipation of this, the European parliamentarians are not the first to adopt a resolution that is anti-Georgian. Some MEPs, who supported the first resolution on Georgia about 10 months ago, are now in prison, and some of them are under investigation, and they have been stripped of their parliamentary immunity. Therefore, no one knows how many people there are among them, who will have to leave the mandate", - said the head of "European Socialists".

  • According to him, the decision adopted by the European Parliament not only contradicts the aspirations of our country, but also discredits Europe itself.
  • "Not only the Georgian society is looking at this, but also the societies of other countries, including European states, and they see that this is the height of injustice. Everyone knows that the Saakashvili family signed a million dollar contract with an American lobbyist company. It is clear and open to everyone that the Saakashvili family paid this substantial sum. But, at the same time, there are also underwater currents, which are not visible... There is a group of Eurodeputies performing that task, that request that the Saakashvili family asked lobbyists.
  • God forbid that the people of Georgia lose faith in their desire for the European Union. This would be a big disappointment," the deputy noted.
  • Regarding the recommendation received by the European Parliament regarding the sanctioning of Bidzina Ivanishvili and the amnesty of Mikhail Saakashvili, Fridon Indzhiya stated that the resolution should not replace justice.
  • "Is it necessary to instruct the president of Georgia to declare amnesty?" If amnesty is announced, will it be only for one person? In Georgia, there are nine or ten thousand convicts... If amnesty is necessary, then it should be for everyone. There is a judicial system that we trust. Maybe they don't trust everyone, but it's impossible to compare today's judicial system with the system of 10 years ago. Bidzina Ivanishvili already made a case in 2012, and people supported it", - said the head of "European Socialists".
  • The resolution of the European Parliament recommends that the partners of Georgia introduce sanctions against the Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili and calls on the authorities of Georgia to release ex-president Mikhail Saakashvili in order to treat him abroad.

(Original) There is a real danger of using nuclear weapons and direct confrontation between Russia and NATO - Fridon Indzhiya

16.03.23

"The situation in the world, especially in the European part, is very complicated. There is a big danger, and the situation is gradually worsening. The threat of war between Russia and NATO already exists. There is a big danger of a direct collision between Russia and NATO member states».

The chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya stated this on live TV channel POS TV.

According to the deputy, the North Atlantic Alliance is gradually getting more involved in the war with Russia, which also implies a nuclear threat.

"If at the first stage guns with a radius of action of 70 km were delivered, then guns with a radius of action of 150 km were used in the future. After this, it became necessary to use modern tanks, now we are talking about aviation. I believe that this is almost a step in the direction of using nuclear bombs. What is meant - the airfields that the F-16 and other similar aircraft of the 5th generation need, these are specially equipped airfields. I doubt that such airfields are on the territory of Ukraine. Accordingly, if these planes are transferred to Ukraine, they must fly from the airfields of NATO countries. And this already creates a greater danger of a direct collision between Russia and the NATO member countries", said Fridon Indzhiya.

(Original) I think I can convince the deputies of the need to create a temporary commission to investigate the war of 2008 - Fridon Indzhiya

15.03.23

The chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" of Georgia, Fridon Indzhiya, believes that it is necessary to put an end to different opinions regarding the August war of 2008, and for this, the support of the deputies of the Parliament is important.

«I think that I will be able to convince my colleagues of the need to create a temporary investigative commission. "This step will be done to put an end to different opinions regarding the war of 2008," Fridon Indzhiya said in an interview with "Rustavi-2" TV channel.

"If we are supported by 1/3 of the Parliament's deputies, that is, 50 deputies, then a temporary investigative commission will be created taking into account the regulations, and the issues that must be investigated by this commission will be determined," the deputy noted.

 (Original) Fridon Indzhiya took the initiative to create a parliamentary temporary commission to investigate the August war of 2008

14.03.23

 The chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya held a press conference in the highest legislative body about the need to create a temporary parliamentary commission to investigate the causes and events preceding the August 2008 war.

  • "Several weeks ago, the initiative of investigating the war of 2008 was voiced by public representatives.

This demand and the need for an objective investigation was voiced more than once from the rostrum of the Parliament and in various media by the deputy group of our party.

  • The truth about what and how it happened, as a result of which we lost territory, interests our public, as well as the family members of 408 people who died in this war. In addition, it is necessary for our future, our history, so that there are no black spots of uncertainty.

 The war of 2008 was evaluated by the Tagliavini commission, later the chronology of the beginning of the war was reflected in the resolution of the Council of Europe, which was also supported by the National Movement. The current president of Georgia has expressed his position on the topic of war during the presidential elections.

 However, Georgian society still has no clear information about what actually happened in August 2008:

 Почему we lost 20% трериторий страны;

Можно ли было выбирать такой огенной потери для страны;

 What did our international partners advise the Saakashvili government?

Who and what role he played in the adoption of the tripartite agreement on the cessation of fire;

For what reason and on whose orders, more than 1000 Georgian soldiers left the Kodor gorge without fighting.

 What was the cost of the military equipment that was written off after the war, and at all, was this equipment available, and also where was it located;

In addition to the authorized persons who were involved in the decision-making on the part of Georgia and many other issues that are still being discussed in our society;

 We believe that each of these issues needs to be carefully investigated, as they have repeatedly stated. The investigation can be started both in the prosecutor's office and in the format of the parliamentary temporary commission. Loss or transfer of 20% territory of Georgia should not remain unpunished!

Based on the above, our party begins to collect signatures on the topic of the investigation of the August 2008 war - with the goal of starting a prosecutor's investigation, as well as creating a temporary parliamentary investigative commission. We will go to all regions of the country to collect signatures and explain to people the importance of the results of the investigation of the 2008 war, as well as what the new war will bring.

This question is all the more relevant today that the government representatives are openly talking about the danger of opening a second front in Georgia.

  • We must do everything so that what happened in August 2008 will never happen again in Georgia.

 We are confident that a thorough investigation of the 2008 war will make a significant contribution to the prevention of a new war.
