Georgian Diaspora Living Abroad is Georgia's Intellectual, Demographic and Financial Wealth

📍"Georgian Diaspora Living Abroad is Georgia's Intellectual, Demographic and Financial Wealth"

🔹 Fridon Injia, Chairman of the Parliamentary Political Group "European Socialists" stated about it at the sitting of the Committee on Diaspora and Caucasus Issues in the Parliament of Georgia, where they discussed migration and modern migration processes.

🔹 Natia Kvitsiani, Program Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), presented information on migration research and support for attracting and facilitating diaspora investment at the Committee meeting.

🔹 Fridon Injia believes that it is important and necessary to systematize the analysis of the diaspora in different countries abroad, based on their capabilities.

🔹 "Up to one million Georgian citizens are in Russia, there will probably be another 500 thousand in other countries. Here, where did we lose the rest? This is interesting and in general I think that such a search is very important for Georgians, Georgians. I think it is necessary to systematize them. What do they do, what business do they have, where do they live? All of this needs to be done in order to analyze what we can use their capabilities for. What do I mean and where am I going? Every person living abroad is our property. It would be great to have these files analyzed by country. I mean to apply their knowledge in our country. "Let's use their capital," Fridon Injia said at the committee meeting.

🔹 "We Georgians really need to stand on our own two feet. Again with that diaspora, their cases, doctors, agricultural specialists and it would be great if these files would have systematized information by country. It would be very interesting," said Fridon Injia.

🔹 According to the chairman of the political group, it is necessary to work with the committee to attract the maximum number of diaspora.

🔹 Fridon Injia expressed hope that the issue would be supported by the Diaspora Committee.
