"On the glorious holiday of Easter, when we went to the districts to visit the graves of our ancestors, it became clear once again how beautiful our country is. There is no area left where something is not done, not beautified. Certain economic means emerged and the government was given the opportunity to finance the peasantry. All this is a result of the fact that there has been no war in Georgia for the last 10 years. "Let's look at those villages and towns and see the state of our brother's Ukraine today."

"I want to focus on countries like Israel, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and so on, which go to the edge of the knife, but in their own interests, do everything possible to avoid taking part in the war and get out of this situation. "Our situation is more difficult because some part of our territory is out of control, and this line is very close to the capital of Georgia," Fridon Injia said at the plenary session.

According to him, on February 24, when the war started, two weeks earlier, he spoke at a parliamentary session about the need for the brotherly Ukrainians to implement the Minsk agreement.

"A week later, my colleague Avtandil Enukidze (Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament) and I made another statement about it, but today you can see how everything turned out differently. Destroyed cities. I do not want our country to find itself in such a situation. Therefore, great care is needed, "said Fridon Injia.

He called on the Georgian authorities to be more adequate in the current situation.

"I want to call on our government to abide by the law and be more adequate in light of the current situation in Georgia," Fridon Injia said.

The chairman of the political group believes that the rule of law is paramount for the government in any situation and the law must be enforced in the country.

Legislative initiative of the "European Socialists" to simplify the procedure for obtaining Georgian citizenship for those who have emigrated.

I would like to inform you about the members of "European Socialists", Mr. Avtandil Enukidze, Davit Zilfimiyan, Gela Mikadze, and my legislative initiative.

Our proposal will concern changes in the Organic Law "On Georgian Citizenship", which is due to many important factors.

According to the 2021 data of the National Statistical Service of Georgia, the population of Georgia is 3,728,573 people.

These population figures clearly convey the acute demographic and migration problems in our country over the last 30 years.

Particularly noteworthy is the mass emigration of the 1990s, which was followed by the difficult socio-economic situation and military conflicts in the country. Georgian citizens, regardless of their ethnicity, emigrated. Unfortunately, this process continues to this day and reaches an alarming rate.

The military-political conflict created at the end of the 20th century gave birth to another center of migration. As a result of the conflicts in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region, the population of these regions has been cut off from the rest of Georgia for almost three decades and their number is hundreds of thousands.

Along with the increased rate of emigration, there is also a decreasing trend in the return of emigrants. Emigrants, for a number of reasons, are unable to return to their homeland.

First of all, these reasons may include imperfect legislation and even artificially created barriers.

Not only those who have emigrated are torn from Georgia, but also their children, who are moving away from their native roots day by day.

The state is obliged to return and protect every person who has fled the difficult social, economic, conflict situation in the country, or was forced to leave the country, and at the same time, the state must give them the opportunity and motivation to return to Georgia.

The state is also obliged to provide financial assistance to the family returning from emigration, which is the subject of the next consideration.

The draft law prepared by the European Socialists aims to amend the Organic Law on Citizenship of Georgia, which will make it easier for people and their children who have left Georgia to obtain Georgian citizenship for a number of reasons, with new regulations, challenges and practical needs.

Although there are reservations in the Organic Law on Citizenship of Georgia, which in theory seem to simplify the procedures for obtaining citizenship, in practice, these records do not fully ensure its effective implementation. Which, unfortunately, leads to the heartache and frustration of going into emigration.

It is necessary to pursue a migration policy that unites people who have left Georgia and are scattered. They will show interest and motivation in our country so that they can finally return to their homeland with their children. They need to feel that the state cares about them. In this regard, we can cite the example of many other countries.

It is necessary to have reservations in the law, which will facilitate the acquisition of citizenship for people who want to return to their historical roots, so that there are no restrictions and barriers for them, such as complicated testing in the state language, Georgian history and law.

We believe that the implementation of such a policy by the state will help strengthen our country and improve the demographic issue.

During the preparation of the draft law, we consulted with various organizations, including state institutions, such as the Supreme Council of Abkhazia, the administration of the president, and also consulted with individual deputies.

The Government of Georgia and the Parliament must agree on the impending crisis, especially in terms of food security!

"It is clear to everyone that at least the next two years, given the difficult geopolitical situation in the world, will be very difficult for the whole world, including the Georgian economy."

According to him, all well-known international institutes and experts confirm this in their conclusions and forecasts.

"In order to overcome this crisis and challenge, I think it is time for the Georgian government and parliament to work together to find a way out of the impending crisis, especially in terms of food security," said Fridon Injia.

"Therefore, should we not think of creating an anti-crisis council, about the same form that worked successfully in the fight against Kovid under the leadership of Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili. In this case, I think the challenges are much more acute and difficult, "said Fridon Injia.

He said that the executive branch and the parliament should act as effectively, boldly and quickly as possible to overcome the impending crisis, as many legislative changes and initiatives will be promptly accepted in the light of developments.

Natia Kvitsiani, Program Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), presented information on migration research and support for attracting and facilitating diaspora investment at the Committee meeting.

Fridon Injia believes that it is important and necessary to systematize the analysis of the diaspora in different countries abroad, based on their capabilities.

"Up to one million Georgian citizens are in Russia, probably there will be another 500 thousand in other countries. Here, where did we lose the rest? This is interesting and in general I think that such a search for Georgians, Georgian surnames is very important. I believe that it is necessary to systematize them. What do they do, what business do they have, where do they live? All this should be done in order to analyze how we can use their capabilities. What do I have in mind and where am I going? Every person who lives abroad is our wealth. It would be great if these files had an analysis by country. I mean to use their knowledge in our country. Let's use their capital", said Fridon Injia at the committee meeting.

"Georgians really need us to get back on our feet somehow. Again with the diaspora, their cases, doctors, agricultural specialists, and it would be very good if these files had systematized information by country. It would be very interesting", said Fridon Injia.

According to the chairman of the political group, it is necessary to work with the committee to attract the maximum number of diaspora.

Fridon Injia expressed hope that the issue would be supported by the Diaspora Committee.

It is not advisable to hold a meeting of the Security Council in an extended format - Fridon Injia.

Fridon Injia, chairman of the European Socialist parliamentary group, does not consider it appropriate to convene an extended meeting of the Security Council.

The chairman of the political group stated about it at the sitting of the Bureau in the Parliament, where the chairman of the political group of "Strategy Builder" Giorgi Vashadze focused on convening the meeting of the Security Council in an extended format.

"The Security Council has its own format and it can invite any official to the meeting. So, the Security Council does not consider the discussion in an extended format, and I think it is not desirable either, "Fridon Injia said at the bureau meeting.

As for the current situation in the country and in the world in general, according to Fridon Injia, it is possible that it will be in the fall or by the end of the year, the situation in the country will become somewhat critical.

"It will be food security, if there are other issues, it is important for the state to take care of these issues from here, because it is not excluded that unforeseen moments may occur. "I had a proposal to set up an anti-crisis council to work on these issues," Fridon Injia said.

The Chairman of the Political Group responded to the proposal of Giorgi Vashadze, Chairman of the Strategy Builder, to visit Georgia with a joint delegation from Brussels to state his position on European integration.

"I think this proposal is a dead topic in itself, because the ruling party in Europe walks with the representatives of its team, and the opposition walks with its team. Therefore, I can not imagine how these two teams will jointly defend the interests of what is called the interests of the country. Therefore, I consider this issue to be stillborn in this situation, "said Fridon Injia.
