🔹 The chairman of the parliamentary political group “European Socialists” Fridon Injia will not support the draft of the constitutional law, which envisages making changes to the procedure for electing the Prosecutor General in the transitional provision of the Constitution of Georgia.
🔹 The chairman of the political group made a statement about this at the session of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

🔹 “No constitutional institution envisages a one-year absence. We have a good example of how to choose an election administration, and we ignore that example and rely on the insulting 12 points that were sent to us. This is offensive to me. Then if we have to change it again, did you get it wrong, what kind of kindergarten is it?… We made the constitution a temporary law… who will do what they like… do you think we will contribute to depolarization by adopting this law?” – said Fridon Injia.

🔹 According to the project, the Parliament of the next two convocations will elect the Prosecutor General with a majority of three fifths of the full composition. If the Parliament fails to elect the Prosecutor General twice with a three-fifths majority of the full composition, the Parliament elects the Prosecutor General with a majority of the full composition. The term of office of the General Prosecutor elected by the majority of the full composition is one year.
