📍 “The Prosecutor’s Office is one of the most important institutions after the Constitutional Court, and this is the case in all countries. “Our team will support the changes presented by the ruling party regarding the procedure for electing the Prosecutor General, and this will be a great achievement for the opposition.”
The chairman of the parliamentary political group “European Socialists” Fridon Injia made a statement about this to the mass media in the country’s highest legislative body.
At the initiative of the parliamentary majority, the process of public discussion of the draft constitutional law of Georgia has started in the country’s highest legislative body.
Within the framework of the public discussion, a draft of the constitutional law will be presented to the public, which envisages making changes to the procedure for electing the Prosecutor General in the transitional provision of the Constitution of Georgia.
“If the prosecutor’s office and the court are at their level, then there is no need for a public defender either. Regarding, specifically, the changes presented by the ruling party regarding the procedure for electing the Prosecutor General, I consider them to be the most important. The changes will be accepted and it will be a great achievement of the opposition. Our team, our party, will vote for this change,” said Fridon Injia.
