📍 Chairman of the parliamentary political group “European Socialists” Fridon Injia believes that the country’s president Salome Zurabishvili violated the country’s constitution many times with her anti-constitutional, anti-state and anti-national speeches, thus Salome Zurabishvili ignored the rule of law and the principle of teamwork established in politics.
🔷 The chairman of the political group emphasized the last report of President Zurabishvili, which he made in the highest legislative body of the country, where, according to the deputy, he practically dismissed all the government’s activities, including the peace initiatives of the government.
🔷 “President Zurabishvili’s speech at the parliament session is worth nothing, where he dismissed all the government’s activities, peace initiatives and the government’s efforts to prevent Georgia from getting involved in the war, and criticized the government in such a way that he put the resignation of the Lam government on the agenda. He continued this pathos not only in the hall of the Parliament of Georgia, but also in the European Parliament.
🔷 Zurabishvili made unacceptable statements for our country from the tribune of the European Parliament, things that did not befit even the president himself, and of course, our country did not deserve that.
Therefore, I believe that to a certain extent the issue of impeachment of President Zurabishvili may be delayed”, said the MP.
🔷 Fridon Injia called the recent actions of Salome Zurabishvili demarche, which was expressed by the president in various visits to Europe without any agreement with the country’s government.
🔷 “When Zurabishvili poses under the flag of Georgia and the European Union in European countries, it is not a personal visit, but that he represents Georgia. If this was a private visit, Zurabishvili could have invited Charles Michel to Paris, or vice versa, Charles Michel invited Zurabishvili to his home.
🔷 In relation to this issue, the Constitution of Georgia clearly states that the President of the country has the authority to hold representative talks with the representatives of the authorities of other states and international organizations only with the consent of the Government of Georgia”, said Fridon Injia.
🔷 The chairman of the political group believes that if the Constitutional Court determines that the President has violated the Constitution, in such a case it would be logical for him to resign without any voting.
🔷 “If there is the rule of law and if the Constitutional Court decides that the current president of Georgia has violated the country’s constitution, then I think it would be logical for Zurabishvili to resign without any voting. Because he broke the oath he took publicly, where he loudly declared that he will fulfill and respect all the requirements of the Constitution of Georgia. Taking this step on his part would be somewhat of an apology.
🔷 And if the question of impeachment of the president will be raised in the parliament, then our team will vote for his resignation”. – said the MP.
🔷 According to Fridon Injia, in addition to the protection of the law and the constitution, acting on the team principle plays an important role in political life, Salome Zurabishvili ignored both the constitution, the rule of law, and the political rules of acting on the team principle.
