📍 The chairman of the parliamentary political group “European Socialists” Fridon Injia drew attention to the sad reality of the double standard established in Georgian politics during his speech in the format of a political debate at the plenary session of the autumn session of the Parliament of Georgia.
🔷 According to Fridon Injia, the example of a double standard established in politics greatly hinders the country’s development, progress, and its future.
🔷 According to the chairman of the political group, the political activities of both the current president and former president Saakashvili may be considered in terms of double standards.
🔷 “I want to draw attention to an issue called the double standard established in Georgian politics, which greatly hinders the future development of our country. I have in mind, in particular, the existing malpractice, when a person violates the law and is acquitted and declared innocent before the court’s decision. – said Fridon Injia.
🔷 At the same time, in the opinion of the chairman of the political group, his fellow MPs, who come out from the high tribune of the parliament and make loud statements about protecting the rights of Georgian citizens, act with double standards, but in reality, their approaches to certain issues or facts are non-objective and biased.
🔷 “Our colleagues go out and kill themselves because the rights of Georgian citizens should be protected. Where were they during those 9 years when human life meant nothing to them?!” – noted Fridon Injia.
🔷 The MP drew attention to the shooting of Georgian Jumber Silagawa by a policeman a few days ago in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine.
🔷 According to Fridon Injia, “if this fact had happened in another country, probably the area in front of the parliament would have been filled with people and all the television channels would have been busy covering this story.”
🔷 In the opinion of the chairman of the political group, it is important for the foreign ministry of the country to conduct an investigation and establish the truth regarding this matter.
🔷 “How can you shoot three bullets in the back of a person in front of his family, small children. This is a big trouble for me. How can an unarmed person walking on the street be attacked like that? Again, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should work on this issue, conduct an investigation and establish the truth so that the mentioned fact does not remain unanswered,” Fridon Injia believes.
