All laws should be adopted based on state interests - Fridon Eng

📍 The chairman of the political group "European Socialists" of the Parliament of Georgia, Fridon Injia, focused on the legal committee session of the Parliament by relating to the legal proposals initiated by "People's Power" and talked about its main essence.

🔶 "Colleagues, I am once again convinced that the first draft introduced in the parliament is a semi-law, and I want to explain why I think that the first draft is a semi-law.

🔶 First of all, I would like to draw attention to transparency. Why do we want transparency?

🔶 We learned that the non-governmental sector is financed by Europe, Asia or the United States of America.

🔶 According to the first draft, attention is focused on the transparency of the organization's activities, but where are the state interests here?!

🔶 Transparency is understandable, but it must lead to some result, the interests of the state must be taken into account, or the issue of prevention of harmful actions of the state must be determined.

🔶 That is why this draft law is a semi-law and it needs to be continued.

🔶 A non-governmental organization is created, which calls for the resignation of the government. Create a technical government. There are a number of issues here.

🔶 Non-governmental organizations have created political structures, like political parties.

🔶 All laws should be adopted based on state interests.

🔶 Regarding the term - agent, Fridon Injia noted that this term is established in the world and among them, in Georgia and in various structures, and the deputy does not see anything wrong with it.

🔶 Moreover, the chairman of the political group thinks that they may be proud of such a status even more, while those who perceive the term - agent in a negative context, their activity is the heavy form of agency that they fear.

🔶 According to the deputy, based on the political events of the last few days, many "interesting" things have been revealed and attention should be paid to this.

🔶 At the meeting of the legal issues committee of the Parliament, two different draft laws initiated by "People's Power" were discussed in the first reading.

🔶 Namely: "On Registration of Foreign Agents" and "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Georgia" in the first reading and the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence", also in the first reading.

(Original) I think I can convince the deputies of the need to create a temporary commission to investigate the war of 2008 - Fridon Indzhiya

15.03.23

The chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" of Georgia, Fridon Indzhiya, believes that it is necessary to put an end to different opinions regarding the August war of 2008, and for this, the support of the deputies of the Parliament is important.

«I think that I will be able to convince my colleagues of the need to create a temporary investigative commission. "This step will be done to put an end to different opinions regarding the war of 2008," Fridon Indzhiya said in an interview with "Rustavi-2" TV channel.

"If we are supported by 1/3 of the Parliament's deputies, that is, 50 deputies, then a temporary investigative commission will be created taking into account the regulations, and the issues that must be investigated by this commission will be determined," the deputy noted.

 (Original) Fridon Indzhiya took the initiative to create a parliamentary temporary commission to investigate the August war of 2008

14.03.23

 The chairman of the parliamentary political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya held a press conference in the highest legislative body about the need to create a temporary parliamentary commission to investigate the causes and events preceding the August 2008 war.

  • "Several weeks ago, the initiative of investigating the war of 2008 was voiced by public representatives.

This demand and the need for an objective investigation was voiced more than once from the rostrum of the Parliament and in various media by the deputy group of our party.

  • The truth about what and how it happened, as a result of which we lost territory, interests our public, as well as the family members of 408 people who died in this war. In addition, it is necessary for our future, our history, so that there are no black spots of uncertainty.

 The war of 2008 was evaluated by the Tagliavini commission, later the chronology of the beginning of the war was reflected in the resolution of the Council of Europe, which was also supported by the National Movement. The current president of Georgia has expressed his position on the topic of war during the presidential elections.

 However, Georgian society still has no clear information about what actually happened in August 2008:

 Почему we lost 20% трериторий страны;

Можно ли было выбирать такой огенной потери для страны;

 What did our international partners advise the Saakashvili government?

Who and what role he played in the adoption of the tripartite agreement on the cessation of fire;

For what reason and on whose orders, more than 1000 Georgian soldiers left the Kodor gorge without fighting.

 What was the cost of the military equipment that was written off after the war, and at all, was this equipment available, and also where was it located;

In addition to the authorized persons who were involved in the decision-making on the part of Georgia and many other issues that are still being discussed in our society;

 We believe that each of these issues needs to be carefully investigated, as they have repeatedly stated. The investigation can be started both in the prosecutor's office and in the format of the parliamentary temporary commission. Loss or transfer of 20% territory of Georgia should not remain unpunished!

Based on the above, our party begins to collect signatures on the topic of the investigation of the August 2008 war - with the goal of starting a prosecutor's investigation, as well as creating a temporary parliamentary investigative commission. We will go to all regions of the country to collect signatures and explain to people the importance of the results of the investigation of the 2008 war, as well as what the new war will bring.

This question is all the more relevant today that the government representatives are openly talking about the danger of opening a second front in Georgia.

  • We must do everything so that what happened in August 2008 will never happen again in Georgia.

 We are confident that a thorough investigation of the 2008 war will make a significant contribution to the prevention of a new war.

Fridon Injia – I Believe That This Law Should Be Stricter In Georgia Today

Chairman of the political group "European Socialists" of the Parliament of Georgia, Fridon Injia, at the meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs, where the draft laws initiated by "People's Power" were discussed, asked questions to the rapporteur of the project, MP Guram Macharashvili.

Two different draft laws initiated by "People's Power" were discussed in the first reading at the session of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament. In particular: "On Registration of Foreign Agents" and "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Georgia" in the first reading and the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence", also in the first reading.

"Two draft laws have been introduced, one is the so-called Russian law, which is very liberal, does not give anything and is a half-law, and I agree with the statement of my colleagues - "No Russian law!

I think that this law should be stricter in Georgia today.

As for the United States of America, such a big country as the United States of America, with its Central Intelligence Service and Central Bureau of Investigation and systems, it has adopted this law since 1938, and this law is working.

This law operates based on the interests of the country, the United States of America.

We are a small country, maybe our country does not need such a law, if it is needed in order to increase the degree of independence.

Today we are talking about the Constitution and Article 78 of the Constitution, what do you think about the record of the country's integration into European structures, is this integration or not, if we adopt European or American law?! Or will we adopt a law whose content and spirit will be European or American?!" Fridon Injia said at the session.
