Chairman of the parliamentary opposition political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya at the plenary session of the Parliament emphasized the shortcomings of the work of diplomatic missions and embassies of Georgia abroad.

"Who is responsible for the circulation of lies and baseless, biased actions against our country on the part of some European parliamentarians or former politicians?" At the same time, in the country where these international institutions are located, a highly paid ambassador works with his diplomatic corps, and his direct responsibility is to prevent similar actions against the state..." - said Fridon Indzhiya.

According to his words, it is necessary for the relevant ministries and state departments to implement structural and personnel changes, to take effective steps for the immediate solution of these problems.

"The obligation of the Supreme legislative body is to exercise supervision and control over governmental structures." First of all, this is done by the parliamentary majority, because it is responsible for everything. We - the party "European Socialists", considering ourselves as a constructive opposition, are obliged to comment on the shortcomings, and present our vision of their solutions.

The Parliament of the country is the main body that forms the internal and external policy of the state along with the executive power.

I want to draw your attention to the effectiveness of the work of the Georgian diplomatic corps and missions abroad, which are the face of the Georgian state, and they are entrusted with a greater mission in the construction of the Georgian state.

I think that the mechanism of appointing ambassadors and officials of the diplomatic corps of Georgia is somewhat vague and unclear. The Parliament approves and appoints members of the Supervisory Councils of various departments and listens to their reports, we pass laws even in the case of a veto, and we cannot appoint ambassadors for months?! What we are dealing with is to judge you. The status of the ambassador is 100 times higher than the status of the members of the Supervisory Councils of various departments, which we appoint here. 

For example, let's take the ambassador of Georgia to France... Who is she, what does she do? By what criteria was it appointed? In my opinion, no one knows her, she hasn't done anything, and if she did, tell me what she did?  

Tell me who is responsible for those baseless, biased actions directed against our country through the circulation of lies on the part of some current MEPs or former politicians... At the same time, in the country where these international institutions are located, we have a highly paid ambassador with his diplomatic corps, whose direct duty is to prevent actions directed against the state, to make every effort to provide the world community with correct and reliable information in the state where it operates, to provide it by all means, to regularly disseminate information, making statements, holding press conferences , publishing and distributing information bulletins. Also, I would like to note the importance of the role of diplomats in attracting foreign investments, bringing modern technologies to the country. All this is done only to suppress and kill our sense of national belonging and strength.

I will not list the traitors, but I will say one thing that today one of the traitors is giving lectures to our future generation at the State University of Ilya. Can you imagine what he teaches them?

In conclusion, I must say that it will not work for them... It will not work if we are not in protection all the time! The law must have force, it must act, and if there is no law, we must accept it. We are a small nation and a small country, so to save the country, our laws must be much stricter than the laws of countries with a population of tens, hundreds of millions, and also with a billion population. The head of the parliamentary opposition political group "European Socialists" Fridon Indzhiya took part in the online meeting of the representatives of the Venice Commission with the deputies of the opposition factions and political groups regarding the amendments introduced in 2021 to the Law of Georgia "On General Courts".  

The meeting was organized on the initiative of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

In his speech, Fridon Indzhiya focused attention on official business trips of judges to other courts.

«I will start with the question about the terms of the commander's orders. As you know, Article 37 is newly formulated in the Law¹, and the maximum term of the judge's assignment in another court increased to one year. "I think that a judge who leaves his place of permanent residence and works away from his family deserves additional encouragement from the state", - noted deputy Indzhiya.

Regarding the lifting of the ban on re-election for a second term to the Supreme Council of Justice of one and the same person, Fridon Indzhiya emphasized that he shares the negative opinions expressed on this occasion and believes that the ban on re-election would serve as an additional guarantee for the independence, impartiality, objectivity and democracy of the judicial system. в стране.

The representatives of the Venetian Commission were interested in the initiative expressed by Fridon Indzhia regarding additional incentives for judges sent on long-term assignments to other courts and, based on the importance of the issue, intend to return to its discussion in the future.

The head of "European Socialists" did not agree with the opinion expressed at the meeting by the representative of "National Movement" that the Georgian society is allegedly polarized.

"I do not agree with the conclusion of the National Movement and the statement that our society is polarized. I would say that two or three parties are polarized today in Georgia. On the one hand - "Dream", on the other - "National Movement" and several other parties. This is the polarization of two parties, and not the society as a whole, especially in the districts and villages, there is no polarization. Так что, это надуманно. "This issue is now very important, because in such a small country as Georgia, there are many parties, and as a result of these changes, the Parliament will be multi-party, which would reflect the interests of the population," said the deputy.
In regard to the entry of Georgia into the European Union, India stated that it is necessary to work hard, and this is a complicated process, in which the rule of law in the country is the main one.
«To get closer to membership in the EU, it is necessary to find a common language both on the part of the government and the opposition. I believe that a common language can be found when there is rule of law in the country. "Whoever is guilty should sit in prison, regardless of what party he represents or who he is," the head of "European Socialists" noted at the meeting.
